Sumitomo Electric Carbide aquires Master Tool LLC

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. (www.sumicarbide.com) has acquired Master Tool LLC. The purchase was completed June 29, and established Sumitomo as the majority owner of the Grand River, Ohio, company.
Master Tool designs and builds custom, inserted cutting tools. The company’s expertise is in the development of custom tooling to machine critical features on engine blocks, cylinder heads, connecting rods, crank shafts, transmission cases and other automotive parts.
In a press release, Sumitomo said the talent and efforts that Master Tool LLC offers are extensive, and that it expect that the Master Tool tooling package will reinforce its reputation as a tooling supplier.
Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc.’s purpose and mission are to research metal cutting industry needs, and to design and produce innovative and highly advanced cutting tool products for the purpose of providing manufacturing solutions to the customer.
