Starrett acquires Tru-Stone

The L.S. Starrett Co. has acquired the assets of Tru-Stone Technologies of Waite Park, Minn., a provider of high-precision, custom-engineered granite machine bases and accessories. As a result of the acquisition, Starrett, a supplier of precision measuring tools and equipment, will diversify its customer base, broaden the array of custom granite solutions for industry and leverage its global brand strength.
Tru-Stone was privately held by shareholders of St. Cloud Industries Inc. and employs 94 at its 90,000-square-foot plant in Minnesota. The company services industries including semiconductor, flat-panel displays, advanced microelectronics, aerospace, automotive, medical and general industrial.
