The Association for Manufacturing Technology’s International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) has signed on as a top sponsor of American Machinist’s “Machine Shop Best Practices Workshop,” a learning environment that will provide shop owners and operations managers with benchmarking data that they can use to improve their operations.

The workshop will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 7-9, 2007, at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center.

Additionally, IMTS has agreed to be exclusive sponsor of American Machinist’s 10 Best Machine Shops program, which uses benchmarking data to identify and honor top-performing machine shops. The program’s first 10 selected shops was introduced in September 2006 at IMTS, and the second class will be honored at the Machine Shop Workshop.

”We’re pleased to be associated with AM’s Machine Shop Workshop and particularly with the 10 Best machine Shop recognition program” said Peter Eelman, vice president-exhibitions, the Association for Manufacturing Technology. “It’s wholly consistent with the key IMTS message concerning the systematic deployment of technology to increase competitiveness. We believe our involvement will help to make these worth programs more visible to everybody.”
