CAM2 Measure X1 software from Faro Technologies Inc. lets users load and open large CAD files faster than other programs and is not limited by computer processor speed.
Faro Technologies Inc., Lake Mary, Fla., is offering CAD-based measurement software that quickly loads and opens large files.
"Our research revealed there wasn't a single program that could handle the extremely large CAD files typical of our target markets, do it quickly, and be easy to use," says Faro CEO Simon Raab about the CAM2 Measure X1.
The company credits a patentpending graphics/CAD engine that lets multiple measurement files refer to a single CAD file instead of each file containing all of the CAD part data. Users deal with entire CAD files instead of splitting them up into separate, moremanageable files. Because the software loads and manages assemblies efficiently, a computer's processor speed does not limit the gains in processing time.
CAM2 Measure X1 software also features an advanced CAD translator that supports more formats such as IGES, VDA, CATIA v4 and v5, Unigraphics, Parasolid, SolidWorks, and Solid Edge.
