Kennametal aerospace machining symposium to be held Feb. 7-8

Symposium will showcase industry and technical trends

Kennametal Inc. ( www.kennametal.com) will host an Aerospace Machining Symposium, February 7 and 8 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Westlake Village, Calif The symposium will feature Richard Aboulafia, vice president of analysis at Teal Group Corporation (www.tealgroup.com), an aviation industry expert, who will deliver opening remarks on the future of the aerospace industry. Aboulafia will be joined by presenters from such aerospace and manufacturing technology companies as the Boeing Company, Novator, Kennametal, Extrude Hone (a Kennametal company), and Mazak Corporation who will talk about advanced materials, machining technologies, new tooling capabilities, and outsourcing to developing markets. “This is an outstanding opportunity for registrants to obtain and share best practices on how best to handle growing demands from the industry,“ Francois Gau, Aerospace and Defense manager at Kennametal, said in an announcement for the event. “Higher production volumes at lower costs, increased speed of development to manufacturing, and introduction of new materials such as advanced titanium alloys or composite fiber all will be on the program,“ Gau added. There is no charge for the symposium, but seating is limited and registrants must respond by January 10, 2007, to reserve a place and to receive an agenda.
