EMO Milano 2015
Siemens will be among hundreds of exhibitors are EMO Milano in October. Working under a slogan of “On the Way to Industrie 4.0 – Digitalization in Machine Tool Manufacturing”, it has emphasized new ways to achieve machining efficiency using the increasing digitalization of machine tool processes.
Two Tools Turning
The expanded contour machining cycle for Siemens Sinumerik CNC controls has been updated to accommodate four-axis turning on lathes. Two opposing turning tools machine a workpiece simultaneously, thus reducing machining time.
Set-Up Automated Production Cells
Siemens helps machine programmers and operators to link robots to machine tools, easily, using Sinumerik 828D and 840D sl CNCs. Different types of robots designed by various manufacturers can be connected to machines using the Sinumerik drives, with the Sinumerik Integrate Run MyRobot / EasyConnect interface.
Better Set-Up, Smarter Operation
Siemens also will introduce a concept for more efficient work processes, called Smart Operation and centering on the Sinumerik 840D sl CNC control. According to the developer, job shops in particular will benefit by it, as it allows work at the machine tool to be performed with greater flexibility, boosting productivity.
