Boeing employees represented by the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace ratified a new 4.8-year contract with Boeing on January 30 with substantial wage increases. According to the SPEEA, which recommended the contract, the ratification secures members of Wichita’s Technical and Professional Unit (WTPU) one of its largest salary increases. The contract, the first negotiated with Boeing since the Virginia-based aerospace manufacturer acquired Spirit Aerosystems, will cover white-collar professionals in non-engineering roles at Boeing’s Wichita.

The contract delivers 20% wage increases to wage pools over the course of 58 months, with minimal annual raises of at least 2%. Workers also received a $6,000 ratification bonus, increased annual performance bonus payouts, a switch to Boeing medical insurance plans in 2027, a 100% 401(k) match for workers putting at least 10% in and increased days off: The SPEEA said the average worker would see six more PTO days.

In a statement, James Hatfield, chair of the WTPU negotiating team, emphasized the higher average wages and new health benefits.

“The average WTPU-represented worker will be making more than $117,000 a year when this contract is done in 2030,” Hatfield said. “In addition, we’ll see significant improvements to our health care benefits with lower premiums, we’ll have more days off from work and we’ll have a higher incentive pay target.”

The contract approval follows a 100-day strike by Boeing Defense workers in late 2025.
