The Mikrosa Kronos S centerless grinder for small shaft-type parts combines two processes — straight and 15°-angle plunge grinding — in one unit by changing out the grinding-spindle unit. The doubleend supported grinding-wheel spindle offers surface speeds up to 120 msec with CBN, and a double-end-supported regulating-wheel spindle delivers up to 1,000 rpm for short dressing times. Double-end spindle support provides rigidity and precision grinding repeatability. A fixed-location grinding gap permits quick cycle times and simple workpiece handling.
