Hardinge Inc. says heavily-ribbed cast iron used in the construction of Bridgeport VMC760XP vertical machining centers provide stiffness and optimum distribution of cutting forces. The machines are equipped with widely spaced guideways that provide minimal overhang, dual-ball linear guides and oversized ballscrews. The machines include SKF spindle technology with a 40-taper spindle powered by a 25-horsepower motor for speed up to 12,000 rpm. www.hardinge.com
