Dec. 21, 2006
Fadal Machining Centers has introduced a CNC vertical machining center designed for die/mold makers and parts producers who need a low cost, full-featured machine.

The GE Fanuc Fadal Oi-MC control is standard on the Fadal 2216FX and 3016FX.

Fadal Machining Centers (www.fadal.com) has introduced a CNC vertical machining center designed for die/mold makers and parts producers who need a low cost, full-featured machine. The Fadal 2216FX is designed to provide critical levels of rigidity, standardized speed and controls, and machining capability for $39,900 (excluding taxes, shipping and installation).

"We positioned this product to have the best price/value ratio in its class," says Jerry McCarty, Fadal's vice president of sales. "It gives die, mold and parts producers a machine that ensures that every dime of their capital investment is hard at work, without making them pay for unneeded capability or having to settle for a stripped-down machine. We focused on sustained performance, ease of programming and operation, efficiency factors, and useful options. We also focused on price."

The 2216FX features rigid boxway construction, Steinmeyer ETA+ dual-mounted ball screws and 8,000-rpm spindle speed. The GE Fanuc Fadal 0i-MC control has more than 200 advanced programming, operational and troubleshooting features. Optional AI Contour Control adds 'look ahead' capability to optimize acceleration and deceleration of the cutting speed.

X, Y and Z-axis travels on the 2216FX are 22 in. by 16 in. by 20 in. The 3016FX model increases the work envelope with 30 in. of X-axis travel. Both machines have a 21-tool automatic tool changer.
