Machine tool builder Mori Seiki (www.moriseiki.com) also has designed machines for large-part machining in the aerospace, oil and natural gas industries.

The company recently introduced its line of NT6600 DCG multi-axis mill-turn machines, the largest of which easily accommodates workpiece lengths to 19.93 ft.

Mori Seiki said the machine’s octagonal ram construction gives it the world’s largest Y-axis stroke at 2.17 ft. The machine turns part diameters to 3.51 ft.
