Emuge Corp. recently expanded the range of solid-carbide thread mills in its THREADS-ALL™ program. The new thread mills require minimal tooling and adapt quickly to a wide range of threading requirements, for easy and safe machining with excellent thread quality and tool life. Requiring only eight standard tool sizes — #10, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 — it is now possible to produce over 100 commonly produced screw thread designations quickly and economically. These include: UNC, UNF, STI UNC, STI UNF, UNEF, UNS - UNJC, UNJF, M, MJ. In addition, THREADS-ALL tools provide total control over pitch diameter limits including 2B, 3B, 3BG, and all oversize variants.
The Emuge THREADS-ALL program is specially designed for difficult-to-cut materials, up to 58Rc, including stainless steels, titanium and Inconel often used in demanding industries such as aerospace, defense and medical.
Also, Emuge said THREADS-ALL tools will meet the highest quality standards. The thread mill range is designed through in-depth analysis of thread dimensions and tolerances and advanced profile geometry correction in the finish grind, for true-to-gage threads. “Emuge recognizes the need to continually deliver new tooling solutions to help manufacturers cut costs, improve delivery times and produce world-class products,” stated Mark Hatch, the company’s Thread Milling Manager. “With the new THREADS-ALL program, we offer manufacturers a high-quality threading solution that maximizes profitability and minimizes tool inventories.”
The THREADS-ALL Solid Carbide Thread Mills Program also includes miniature tools for dependable, easy machining of difficult materials. Miniature thread mills provide a reliable threading solution in ten sizes, from 0 to STI 8.
