Deepest project to date in South China Sea

Cameron, a manufacturer of flow equipment for oil-and-gas drilling and processing, has a new multimillion order to supply subsea production systems for a deepwater and offshore gas-processing and pipeline project in the South China Sea. The equipment and systems will begin late this year and continue through 2012.

The Houston-based company also contracted to perform additional services throughout the life of the field.

"At water depths of nearly 5,000 feet, this represents the deepest prospect to date in the Asia-Pacific region,” according to Cameron president and CEO Jack B. Moore.

He added that Cameron also will build a new aftermarket facility in China to provide its CAMSERV aftermarket services for this and future projects in the region.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to provide Cameron's equipment and technology in support of this important development. This is the first major subsea project in China for Cameron, and it represents a significant market opportunity," Moore said.
