Timken chairman is choice for ambassador

President Bush has nominated W.R. "Tim" Timken Jr. to be the next U.S. ambassador to Germany.

President Bush has nominated W.R. "Tim" Timken Jr. to be the next U.S. ambassador to Germany. The Berlin assignment is considered one of the nation's top diplomatic posts. Timken has long been a major Bush backer. Ohio Republican Sen. George Voinovich, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, says "Timken is very familiar with the international scene and will do an outstanding job."
