Cummins Announces Significant Developments In Fuel Economy
Cummins Inc. said it will add Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) aftertreatment to its Heavy-Duty products for 2010 to deliver the best fuel efficiency for its customers.

Cummins will combine recent advancements in catalyst technology with its unique engine systems to provide customers with significant fuel economy improvements, in addition to meeting the near-zero emissions levels required by the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 2010 regulations. Read More

Johnson Controls To Develop Components For Electric Vehicles
The United States Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC), with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, has awarded Johnson Controls-Saft a contract valued at $8.2 million. The contract will focus on the development of lithium-ion battery systems for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and over the course of two years will seek to validate the commercial feasibility of lithium-ion technology for mass market PHEVs. General Dynamics Gets $37 Million Contract For Reactive Armor
The U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), in Picatinny, N.J., has awarded General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products a $37 million
contract for the qualification and production of reactive armor side skirt tiles for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle System. General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products is a business unit of General Dynamics. Read More

Lockheed Martin To Acquire Tenix's Interest In RLM Holdings
Lockheed Martin said one of its subsidiaries has entered into a contract to acquire Tenix Group's interest in RLM Holdings Pty Ltd, a radar, systems engineering and integration and logistics management business headquartered in Adelaide, Australia. Read More.

Boeing Announces Orders For 737s, 767s And 777s
  • Boeing and Azerbaijan Airlines finalized an order for two Boeing Next-Generation 737-900ERs and two 767-300ERs. The order is valued at $449 million at list prices. One of the 767s is a substitution for a previously ordered 787, as reflected today on Boeing's Orders and Deliveries Web site. Read More.

  • Boeing and British Airways signed an order for two Boeing 777-300ER jetliners valued at $529 million at list prices. Read More.

American Machinist conducted its third annual Benchmark Survey of American Machine Shops between February and April of this year.
