Goodrich Receives Production Contracts For U.S. Air Force C-5M Re-Engining Program
Goodrich Corp. received production contracts from Lockheed Martin and General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) to supply pylons and nacelle systems for the U.S. Air Force C-5 Galaxy strategic airlifter Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Program (RERP). Work will be performed by Goodrich's Aerostructures teams in Chula Vista and Riverside, Calif. and Foley, Ala. Read More

Caterpillar To Expand Remanufacturing Business
Caterpillar Inc. and Gremada Industries, Inc. said Caterpillar will acquire certain assets of Gremada Industries. The acquisition agreement was signed on June 15, 2008, and the deal is expected to close upon completion of legal and regulatory requirements. Gremada Industries is a leader in the processes of remanufacturing and reclaiming metal parts and components used in transmissions, torque converters and final drives. Gremada provides service support for off-highway equipment used in the mining and petroleum industries, and it has extensive experience providing remanufacturing expertise for equipment used for petroleum drilling applications. General Dynamics Electric Boat Gets $29.7 Million Contract For Nuclear Sub work
Under the terms of the contract modification, Electric Boat will provide planning yard, engineering and technical support for nuclear submarines. Electric Boat will also provide design services to support the installation of configuration changes on submarines as well as the materials required for major alterations. Initially awarded in March 2004, the contract could be worth more than $1.1 billion over five years if all options are exercised and funded. Read More

Boeing Releases Statement On Tanker Protest Ruling
Boeing was informed that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found in Boeing's favor on a number of issues related to its protest of the U.S. Air Force's award of a $35 billion contract to supply the service with its next-generation aerial refueling aircraft - or KC-X tankers - to begin replacing the current fleet of KC-135 tankers. Lockheed Martin Gets $74.8 Million Contract For Train Management System
Lockheed Martin has received an A$74.8 million (US$72 million) contract from the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), Ltd. for the "Proof of Concept" phase of the Advanced Train Management System (ATMS), a new communications-based train management technology for Australia's national interstate freight rail network. During this phase, Lockheed Martin will design, develop, construct and test an ATMS prototype on a 120 kilometre section of the interstate rail network in South Australia. Read More

General Dynamics Gets $10 Million Air Force Gateways Contract
General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, was awarded a $10 million contract from the U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Command to install Air Force Gateways at 13 locations worldwide to enhance security, administration and performance at the Air Force Intranet perimeter. The total potential value of the contract is $10 million if all options are exercised during a 20-month period. Read More
