|Diesel engine maker Cummins Inc. announced it and the Engine Manufacturers Association support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Final Marine Engine Rule. |
The Final Marine Engine Rule is intended to reduce emissions from diesel-fuelled engines installed in marine vessels and locomotives, and completes a series of national emissions standards that apply to diesel engines used for a range of major applications. Read Full Story
|Coca-Cola Enterprises said it will purchase 120 new trucks in 2008 that are powered by Eaton Corp.'s hybrid electric drivetrain system. |
The Coca-Cola order represents the largest North American commercial order to date for Eaton's hybrid systems and follows the beverage company's purchase of 20 trucks with Eaton hybrid power systems in 2007. The Eaton hybrid-electric drivetrain decrease emissions by about 32 percent and fuel consumption by 37 percent compared to conventionally-powered trucks in Coca-Cola's fleet. Coca-Cola also reported lower maintenance costs on the hybrid-powered trucks. Read Full Story
