Mori Seiki in negotiations with Swiss machine tool builder

Machine tool builder Mori Seiki Co. Ltd. is in exclusive negotiations with the Dixi Group concerning the Dixi line of machine tools. Mori Seiki's intent is to purchase the Swiss builder's manufacturing facility and continue to design, manufacture, distribute and service Dixi machine tools.
Assuming the successful completion of negotiations, Mori Seiki (www.moriseiki.com) and Dixi expect the new Mori Seiki company will begin operations in Le Locle, Switzerland, as early as January 2007. Akihiko Takeda of Mori Seiki will be responsible for management and operation of the new company.
Founded in 1904 in an area recognized as the cradle of precision watch and clock manufacturing, Dixi makes precision machining centers and exports 95 percent of what it builds.
