A $5 million investment by Mazak Corporation (www.mazakusa.com) has resulted in a Northeast Headquarters and Technology Center in Windsor Locks, Conn.

The facility opened June 19, and replaces Mazak’s 25-year old regional sales and technical center in South Windsor, Conn. The facility covers 19,000 square feet, nearly doubling the size of the previous center.

Mazak’s Northeast Regional Headquarters is designed to provide improved technical and service support to the region’s manufacturing industries, especially aerospace, medical, electronics, and diversified contract manufacturing.

Engineering and service functions available at the tech center include: process development and technology demonstrations; turnkey system integration tailored to individual company production needs; technical seminars; access to related expertise such as CAD/CAM, automation, and tooling strategies; factory-trained service employees (the facility is manned by 20 service engineers) dedicated to the region; and 24-hour-a-day in-person dedicated service technical phone support.

Mazak says the facility embodies an extensive and very responsive spare-parts network and exchange program for rebuilt units and shipment.
