Germanys President Horst Khler to open international metalworking trade fair

Sept. 4, 2007

Germany’s President Horst Khler will officially open EMO Hannover 2007, an international metalworking and industrial goods fair, on September 17th. According to the German Machine Tool Builders’ Association (VDW), this is the first time a German president has attended the bi-annual event and VDW considers Kohler’s participation a powerful signal underlining the importance of manufacturing technology and of the small-to-medium-sized industrial sector, both of which characterize EMO Hannover.

EMO will be held at the Hannover Convention Center September 17-22. More than 2,100 exhibitors from 42 nations will present their industrial products, solutions and services. VDW said EMO is the largest and most important meeting place for all international top-name manufacturers of metalworking technologies, and that manufacturing technology is the key to the future of industrial production and thus, ultimately, to society itself.

Additional speakers at the opening ceremony include Christian Wulff, Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, and VDW chairman Carl Martin Welcker.
