German CMM manufacturer opens plant in Michigan

Wenzel GmbH (www.wenzel-cmm.com), a German manufacturer of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), will open a 24,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Wixom, Mich. on Oct. 9, 2007. The two-story building will house administrative and engineering offices, production operations for the Wenzel X-Orbit and LH series of bridge style CMMs, and a customer training and demonstration facility. The new building is located close to the Xpect Solutions CMM remanufacturing operations recently acquired by Wenzel.

Wenzel will also introduce several of their new products including the X-Checker shop floor CMM, a new manual X-Cite series for large volume CMM measuring, a new 3D scanning and digitizing system, and X-Measure, a new user interface for OpenDMIS software used by CMMs.
