Command Tooling bought by German tool manufacturer

EWS Tool Technologies (www. ews-tools.de), headquartered in Uhingen, Germany, has acquired Command Tooling Systems (www. commandtool.com), a manufacturer of CNC toolsholders in Ramsey, Minn.

Command will continue to offer its current product lines, including standard and custom toolholders, specialty toolholders, along with its full line of ThermoLock Shrink-fit products and the URMA modular boring systems and reamers. With the addition of EWS, Command will significantly expand its global presence along with its product lines, including a complete offering of driven and static tools.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for Command and the U.S. machining industry,” Robert Rubenstahl, chief executive officer and president of Command/EWS said. “The EWS driven tool product line is one of the best in the world and will now be widely-available in North America.”

Command/EWS is a technology leader in toolholder manufacturing for high-precision machining operations serving many industries, including automotive, aerospace, computer, defense, electronic, job shop and medical equipment.

EWS has worldwide distribution, with facilities in China, Korea and France.
