Earth-Chain (www.earth-chainusa.com) has developed a machine designed to eliminate hand deburring of small, precision parts for the medical, electronics and

aerospace industries. The company says its "sPINner" machine can be used to deburr ferrous, non-ferrous and hard plastic parts made on Swiss-type screw machines, lathes, machining centers and plastic injection mold machines.

The machine is designed to use magnetically activated stainless steel pin media in a soapy deburring solution to remove burrs without harming the part. The company says it can deburr internal cavities, slots, holes and blind holes without the media becoming trapped, and that parts are automatically demagnetized at the end of the deburring cycle.

The machine is programmable for hands-free operation, and is available in three sizes to deburr small, medium and large batches of parts.
