The Fredericks Company (www.fredericks.com), of Huntington Valley, Pa., has developed a single axis, linear output, electrolytic tilt sensor that can be used to level machine tools, and to ensure the levellness for such applications as lasers, transits, airomicds and medical devices.

The sensor measures a 10 degree range at high accuracy with product resolution at less than 1.0 arc second and null repeatability less than 2.0 arc seconds, which the company said is excellent for the 10 degree range. It provides long term stability over its angle and temperature range, has has hermetic glass to metal construction and platinum electrodes that the company said guarantee long operating life and stable operating characteristics.
