Innovations in Chip Conveying and High-Pressure Coolant Expand Peripheral Equipment Series

Versatile LNS Turbo MH500 handles multiple applications, materials, chip types; the PowerStream SA provides flexibility, increased productivity

The new Turbo MH500 chip conveyor from the LNS Group is adaptable to numerous of applications, materials, and chip types.


Switzerland-based machine shop system supplier LNS Group declares itself to be “on the innovation track” with a two new product launches that extend beyond its well-known bar feeding systems. It recently introduced a new chip conveyor, the Turbo MH500, as well as a high-pressure coolant system, the PowerStream SA. LNS is already well known and well-placed in machine shops worldwide with its three different series of bar feeder, Express, Sprint and Alpha.

Almost a year ago, LNS introduced the first model of the Turbo MH500 chip conveyor, and numerous units have been sold since then in Europe and the United States. Customer feedback has bee very positive, so far, according to LNS global product manager CCM, Jamie Towers. “One of the biggest benefits of the Turbo MH500 is the reduction in maintenance required on the machine tool coolant tank.

“In a specific case, one of our clients had to carry out maintenance on an existing coolant tank – including extracting and cleaning conveyors and tank – every six weeks,” Towers explained. “Now he has to do it only once every six months. That means that the Turbo MH500 saves not only time, but also money for our customers.”

In addition to reducing maintenance time and costs, the Turbo MH500 brings sturdiness and versatility to the process of chip removal. Unlike many products available for this task, it will handle a multiple range of applications and materials, from brass to aluminum, as well as all the different chip types.

Additionally, LNS guarantees the Turbo MH500 will provide good filtration to keep the machine tank clear of chips. “Machine-tools today are capable of many types of machining processes and produce a wide range of chip types and shapes,” Towers specified. “The problems customers faced were that the conveyor solutions either lacked filtration or were very expensive and complex. “The Turbo MH500 can operate the whole spectrum,” he continued. “It is the most versatile solution on the market.”

Separately, LNS recently introduced a new high-pressure coolant (HPC) system. “The new PowerStream SA has been tailored to the clients’ needs, to provide flexibility and increase productivity. The standalone unit is compact; pressure adjustments are easy to handle; and the PLC display makes it very user friendly,” Jamie Towers explained.

The new high-pressure coolant system will deliver up to 140 Bar of filtered coolant for all types of machines. The incorporated coolant transfer pump and on-board coolant tank support maximum performance and reliability. According to Towers, “The PowerStream SA improves tool life and surface finish, optimizing the whole production process.”
