Precision Twist Drill became part of the Dormer Group, and the companies formed Precision Dormer (www.precisiondormer.com) for the NAFTA region.

The companies now will act as one unit, to offering a range of metalcutting products. High-performance, material/ application-specific tooling will be branded as Dormer. Precision and Union Butterfield will be the brand for general application drills, taps, end mills, dies and reamers.

Klas Forsstrm took over as president of the company in October, and Alan Godfrey, the former president, remains as an advisor within the Sandvik Group before his planned retirement in 2008.

Previously general manager at Coromant, Sandvik Canada Inc., Klas Forsstrm, said the the new organization will prove beneficial to all parties.

”The new organization provides improved stock availability with combined warehousing and logistics, access to global R&D resources and quicker ordering options with enhanced Web-based capabilities.
