Schunk Expert Days to Study Service Robotics

2010 forum will look at safety, standardization, and current R&D

Schunk, the parent company of plant automation specialist Schunk Inc., plans to stage a 2010 edition of its Expert Days event, February 24-25 in Brackenheim-Hausen, Germany. Similar events were held in 2008 and 2009. Experts will present information and developments regarding service robot systems at the upcoming event, and attendees are expected from all over the world.

In particular, the presentations will address safety, standardization, and European initiatives, along with current research projects in gripping, mobile manipulation, and modular robotics.

The program’s two moderators will be Prof. Dr. Henrik I. Christensen, KUKA Chair of Robotics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Martin Hgele, Head of Department of Robotic Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering und Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart.
