Most scissors clamps come with hardened rotating jaws that have three flat surfaces and one V-groove. To provide more holding options and less damage to parts, I make various jaws out of soft materials, such as aluminum and brass, so I don't damage workpieces. For secure part holding, I then machine V-grooves running in different directions and job-specific shapes into jaw surfaces. To quickly and easily change jaws, I grind off the clamp's original jaw rivet and replace it with a shoulder bolt.www.aminfo.biz/409.ad
