With the release of Cimatron E 5.1, Cimatron adds NC functions to its CAD/CAM software for the tooling industry. Enhancements include 5-axis milling, multiple-cutter finish routines, and other features that prolong tool life and improve machining efficiency in deep cavities.

Cimatron E encompasses a set of easy-to-use 3D-design tools. Its unified solid-surface-wireframe-modeling environment lets users manipulate imported data or create conceptual part designs.

In the design process, the software smoothly integrates tools to split part geometry, finds and implements engineering changes, creates electrodes and inserts, and details tooling components. During manufacturing, it implements 2.5 to 5-axis toolpaths with a focus on toolmaking, using high-speed machining, a knowledge of remaining stock, and templates that improve programming productivity and reduce machining time.
