Exsys Tool, Rego-Fix Partnering In Mexico

June 18, 2009
Strong demand for taper mill tooling

Exsys Tool Inc. has formed a partnership with Rego-Fix to add taper-milling tools to its portfolio of rotary and fixed tool holders. At the same time, the arrangement will help REGO-FIX to expand its presence in Mexico’s high-precision drilling segment.

Exsys Tool supplies high-precision rotary and fixed tool-holding devices for CNC turning centers. Its products are custom-designed for individual brands, including Mazak, Doosan, Haas, Mori Seiki, and Okuma, among others.

"After establishing operations in Mexico in 2006, we noticed a strong demand for mill tooling that warranted the addition of taper tooling to our product inventory," explained Exsys Tool Inc. president Stewart Bachmann, in a release. He added that Exsys identified Rego-Fix as a partner because of its reputation for Swiss quality precision tooling, and because of the potential market impact of its powRgrip collet system.

The powRgrip uses a tool holder and collet to generate very high clamping forces, equal to or higher than shrink-fit holders. Exsys Tool calls it “the benchmark in tooling.”

"Exsys Tool has established itself as a go-to tooling supplier in Mexico," said Andreas Weber, president of REGO-FIX. "The powRgrip system is an ideal tooling solution for the many automotive suppliers and large manufacturers in the country, and we are confident that our partnership with Exsys Tool will ensure a successful expansion into the Mexican market."
