The manufacturer reports the design reduces noise, backlash, and vibration experienced by spindles driven by belts or gears. Besides the 10,000-rpm, high-torque Fanuc Vector Drive AC spindle motors, the machines feature servomotors with absolute encoders; high-speed, swing-arm ATCs; and random access and bidirectional tool magazines. Machine tables range from 27.6 3 16.5 in. to 53.1 3 20.4 in. and 660 to 2,200-lb load capacities for the three models.
