Spindle-alignment kit

Pinpoint Laser Systems Inc. has introduced a spindle alignment kit made to check parallelism, concentricity and wear on spindles, lathes and boring equipment. The company says its Model PLS-AKS003 is a low-cost unit that uses a laser transmitter fitted into the spindle or chuck on the machine to ensure alignment accuracy to 0.0001 in. The transmitter is matched with a digital receiver that is attached to the opposing spindle, toolholder or tailstock. The company says the device can be used quickly and easily to ensure alignment on lathes and turning equipment, spindle drilling systems and other production equipment. The alignment kit is designed for use on large and small machines, and a computer interface is available as an option to store readings and to print out alignment results.www.pinlaser.com
