Available with one or two spindles, the E 280 turning center comes with a C axis, live tooling, and Y axis. Its 25.6-in. swing and 30.71 in. of distance between spindle faces accommodate parts up to 15.75 in. long and 11.02 in. in diameter. The left and right spindles feature high-torque, 15 or 25-hp GE Fanuc spindle motors that power up to 6,000 rpm. Axis travels measure 15.94 in. for the Z, 7.67 in. for the X, and 3.34 in. for the Y. Rapid-traverse rates are 1,181 ipm in Z, 945 ipm in X, 708 ipm for Y, 1,181 imp in B (right spindle) and 850 imp in C with an A2 5-in. spindle nose or 560 ipm with a A2 6-in. spindle nose.
