As part of its focus on big machines, Mori Seiki U.S.A. Inc. (moriseiki.com) presents its NMV8000 DCGT 5-axis vertical machining center created to meet the needs of manufacturers producing large complex parts. The machine accommodates parts as big as 39.7 in. in diameter and weighing as much as 2,200 lb.
Other large-scale machines include the Mori Seiki NT 6600 DCG/4000 CS integrated mill-turn center, which boasts the world’s largest Y axis travel for a maximum machining length of 13.3 ft, and the Dixi Jig 1200 high-precision horizontal machining center with axis strokes measuring 47.2 in. by 43.3 in. by 43.3 in. and a table capable of supporting over 5,500 lb.
