Mazaks VARIAXIS 730-5X II boasts large-volume data management, too.

The VARIAXIS 730-5X II’s powerful 50-taper spindle high-performance characteristics include a maximum spindle speed of 10,000 rpm and 40 horsepower.

The VARIAXIS 730-5X II from Mazak provides high-speed, heavy-duty, five-axis machining of large, complex parts.

Equipped with a 30-tool magazine standard or 80-tool or 120-tool optional magazines, the machine’s powerful 50-taper spindle features high-performance characteristics, including a maximum spindle speed of 10,000 rpm and 40 hp. The 1,654 ipm rapid traverse rate in X-, Y-, and Z-axes reduces cycle times. Also, the machine’s high-precision tilting rotary table has an A-axis (tilting) rotation of 150° and a C-axis rotation of 360°, both in increments as small as 0.0001°.

Machine travels are 28.74” x 33.46” x 22.05” on the X, Y, and Z axes, respectively.

The table size on a single-pallet machine is 24.8 x 19.7 in., with a maximum table load of 1,102 lbs. An optional two-pallet changer system features a table of 19.7 x 19.7 in. With the two-pallet option, the VARIAXIS 730-5X II can be enhanced with Mazak’s Palletech® material handling technology to increase spindle utilization dramatically through unattended operation.

The designer’s Mazatrol MATRIX CNC processes large volumes of data at high speed processing, as required for high-precision simultaneous five-axis machining. Mazatrol MATRIX includes a 64-bit twin-engine CPU that supports 16 million pulse encoders on each linear axis for sub-micron resolution.

Advanced software capabilities make Mazatrol MATRIX easier and safer to program and operate. A Voice Advisor informs operators of machine alarms and when settings have been changed during manual operation. Enhanced visual 3D simulations help operators to identify and correct any interference conditions, and to run part program simulations while the machine is operating.
