Three new models take center stage in Mazak Corp.’s (www.mazakusa.com) Hyper Quadrex series of multi-tasking machines featuring two horizontally opposed spindles for turning and C-axis control, plus upper and lower full-function tool turrets. Both turrets traverse in the Y axis for off-center machining.
As the first member of the Hyper Quadrex family, the 150 MSY sports a 12-in swing, 11.4-in. maximum machining diameter and 24.4-in. machining length. Its main spindle is 20 hp and 5,000 rpm with a 2.55-in.- diameter bar capacity.
