IBAG North America (www.ibagnorthamerica.com) has expanded its Micro Line of spindles with the addition of new 20-mm and 22-mm diameter units to the 25-mm diameter model previously available. Right-hand spindles also are available.

The spindles, that eliminate secondary operations for Swiss-type lathes, use synchronous, DC motor technology and operate up to 100,000 rpm with 260 watts continuous power and high torque. The spindles are for machining applications involving micro-milling and drilling tools, as well as engraving and fine milling. With high rigidity and precision — less than 2 micron runout — the spindles enhance surface quality and machining accuracy.

Models are available in standard length and short length to suit compact tooling areas. For turning center users, IBAG offers a ready-to-install kit that includes the spindle and drive, all electrical and pneumatic lines, and optional spindle mounting blocks.
