Tooling manufacturer aims for cost-effectiviness, productivity with new machining center

Mazak Corp. reports it has formed a partnership with Parlec Inc, a manufacturer of tooling and toolholding, workholding, presetting, and other metalworking products. The goal of the partnership is to use Mazak’s automation and multi-tasking machining capabilities to improve the cost-effectiveness and throughput of Parlec’s Fairport, N.Y., manufacturing operations.

“We’re very excited to be working with Parlec,” stated Mazak Corp. president Brian Papke. “Whenever we see a manufacturer eager to keep their processes at the cutting edge of innovation, with a vital strategic plan for its business, that’s a company we get excited about partnering with. That mentality is a perfect fit for our concept of using Technology Centers to help customers implement technology solutions successfully.“

Parlec is investing in new manufacturing capability, including a Mazak Integrex 300-IV ST machining center, in order to make itself more competitive and to provide its customers with more innovative products and better service.

The Integrex 300-IV ST is equipped with a gantry loader system for unattended multi-tasking machining. Mazak will provide training and application support so Parlec can maximize automation and processing on the multi-tasking machine.

Previously, Parlec adopted a Mazak Palletec manufacturing cell with an HCN-500 II horizontal machining center, for reduced in setup time and increased spindle utilization.

“As a global provider of manufacturing solutions, we find that our values are very much inline with those of Mazak,” stated Parlec president and CEO Michael Nuccitelli. “Through Done-In-One machining and Production on Demand, their company integrates the very solutions they provide. We’re looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership.”
