New Richter manual steady rests from LMC Workholding are manufactured to meet specific requirements for customer applications.

Standard, special and large ring-style steady rests are available with diameters from 0.788 in. to 59.1 in. and with load capacities ranging between 2 tons to 30 tons.

Steady rests turn long shaft type workpieces where cutting can create unstable conditions or cause the parts to bend or deflect. Steady rests for grinding and for extra large workpieces are also available.

The various Richter models include gas springs, rotating, traveling, C-form, grinding, roller and ring manual steady rests. Many of the Richter models feature an electronic measuring device that allows the steady rest to identify the center of the machine and the sleeves.
