The MultiChuck MMY concentric clamping system consists of manual self-centering static workholding for high-density workholding on machining centers, milling machines and grinders. Kurt [Editor’s Note: Need full company name and web site!] says the system provides top-face operation so workpieces can be more closely banked than is possible with side-face lock/unlock systems. The chucks integrate with the company’s high-density workholding towers and other devices, and provide both internal and external clamping so both first and second operations can be performed in the same machining cycle. MultiChuck MMI has fast initial jaw travel with controlled second-stage clamping for large jaw openings and high clamping forces. Jaw strokes are 4 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm across the four variants, and their low height (25 mm to 40 mm across the range) maximizes machine Z-axis travel. The system comes standard with chuck sizes of 80 mm, 100 mm, 125 mm and 150 mm and a range of base dimensions to fit all slotted machine tables.
