Sandvik Coromant (www.coromant.sandvik.com/us) has broadened its offering of hard part turning inserts with the introduction of CB7025, a strong grade optimized for interrupted cuts in case-hardened steel.
The CB7025's high performance results from the grade's fine grain cubic boron nitride (CBN) that controls wear and mechanically interlocks insert corners to provide strength and security that, the company said, is superior to standard insert edge designs. These properties enable high machining speeds, as well as the ability to finish components in one pass while retaining surface quality.
CB7025 grade is available in a range of positive insert designs and comes in two radius wiper geometries.
