Tools at D&S last up to 20 percent longer with Cimstar 60XLZ.

To maintain quality and increase productivity, D&S Machine Service (www.dsmachine.com) in Luxemburg, Wis., a provider of components and special parts to such industries as construction equipment, heavy lifting, marine and others, needed a more-efficient semi-synthetic metalworking fluid that would run clean, provide good sump life and extend tool life. Because of its extensive experience with using Cimcool products, the shop had no qualms about trying the recently developed Cimstar 60XLZ metalworking fluid.

Cimstar, from Milacron Global Industrial Fluids (www.cimcool.com), exceeded D&S's expectations, and the shop incorporated it into its newly purchased machines and into 24 other existing machine tools. The fluid increased tool life by as much as 20 percent, extended sump life 40 percent and eliminated the need for using tapping oil at D&S.

According to Gregg Campbell, programmer and tool buyer for D&S, the fluid is effective. "We work with a variety of steel — from mild to hard carbon. We never thought one product could handle such a wide material spectrum. Cimstar 60XLZ met our challenges," he says.
