A long with other enhancements, MachineWorks V6.1 incorporates OpenGL rendering for a realistic metallic effect within its animations. With this simulation-andverification software, users add reflections into their applications to customize the look and feel.

"After the initial release of version 6.1, we realized the CAM market still demanded a metallic look," comments Mike Nicholson, business development manager at MachineWorks. "With this in mind, we continued to enhance the rendering features."

Other enhancements to version 6.1 include analytical functions that improve detecting collisions, gouges, and undercuts with the different MachineWorks engines. It not only supports OpenGL rendering with wireframe, hidden-line removal, color shading, and transparency, but also advanced features such as texture mapping and shadows for a realistic effect.
