Sypris to Supply Axle Components to ArvinMeritor

LTA to supply parts for Brazilian drive axle plant; also, extension on current supply deals

Sypris Technologies Inc. and ArvinMeritor Inc. have established a new long-term supply agreement, whereby Sypris will manufacture and provide drivetrain components to ArvinMeritor for its drive axle assembly operation in Brazil.

Also, the companies will extend two additional supply agreements by which Sypris produces parts for ArvinMeritor at its plants in Louisville, Ky., Morganton, N.C., and Toluca, Mexico.

Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Sypris Technologies is subsidiary of Sypris Solutions Inc. It forges axle shafts for truck and off-highway vehicle manufacturing, as well as numerous varieties of press forgings weighing from five to 500 pounds, including axle shafts, ring gears, pinions, helical gears, input shafts, spindles, jet engine shafts, piston cylinders.

ArvinMeritor produces light commercial vehicle systems, modules, and components, including axles, brakes, safety systems, drivelines, and suspensions. Sypris has been supplying components to ArvinMeritor under long-term agreement since 2004.
