The automaker, which produces Chysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram Truck vehicles as well as Mopar parts and products, began using Siemens PLM Teamcenter software in 2008. That “digital lifecycle management solution” functions as a single database for product design information across the company, available at any time or location during product development.
Now, Chrysler has now added NX software, a comprehensive digital product development program. “Integration of this tool will help to enhance our ability to collectively engineer new products with improved quality and faster time to market,” stated Scott Kunselman, senior vice president Engineering, Chrysler Group LLC.
“Chrysler’s decision to replace existing solutions with NX and Teamcenter as its corporate-wide standard is a testament to our commitment to provide a robust, open PLM platform for the automotive industry,” stated Tony Affuso, chairman and CEO of Siemens PLM Software. “Siemens PLM Software is honored to partner with Chrysler to deliver a solution that enhances innovation and manages complexity, both of which are requirements for today’s market.”
