Shur-Thread series solid-carbide thread mills consist of 20 tool sizes in two styles: type EZFI for thread sizes #4, #6, and #8 and type GFI for thread sizes #10 through 1.0 in. The cutters are for soft and prehardened steels to 58 Rc, stainless steels, aluminum, cast iron, titanium, Inconel, and difficult-to-machine exotics.

Made from a micrograin carbide and TiCN coated for long life, the thread mills have multiple spiral flutes that eliminate chatter. Their large-diameter cutters with high profile correction produce true-to-gage threads, and an extended milling portion produces cut lengths up to 2 diameter. Large flute spaces enhance chip evacuation, and end mill-type shanks with clamping flats deliver secure holding.
