A new finishing and deburring wheel delivers satin finishes on critical parts such as turbine blades and orthopedic implants. Key to the performance of the Scotch-Brite SF wheel is a special combination of a convolute construction with a resin system that provides dense and uniform mineral distribution throughout the wheel. This combination, says maker 3M Abrasive Systems Division, St. Paul, results in a fast-cutting and long-lasting tool, even when smoothing out burrs.
"The new wheel can tackle three surface finishing elements finishing, blending, and deburring in one operation," claims Ross McLean, the firm's marketing manager. In addition, the wheel breaks down consistently, providing a reliable finish throughout its operating life.
Wheels come in three standard diameters: 6, 8, and 12 in., in both fine and medium grades.
