The PACSystems DSM324i motion controller combines motion features with fiberoptic-command interfaces to a Fanuc servo line. According to the manufacturer, this improves machine-cycle rates and accuracy as compared with mechanical, pneumatic, and other servo solutions to decrease changeover time between product runs. The DSM324i controls up to four servo axes, features built-in diagnostics, includes an electronic CAM function, and deploys in centralized or distributed architectures.
