The Starrett Saw Division of The L.S. Starrett Co. has launched its new Versatix and Advanz bandsaw blade product lines. Versatix MP bi-metal blades have a special tooth design that easily copes with the shock-loading conditions associated with intermittent cutting. Developed for cutting structural steels, sections, tubes and small solids, the new blades also are good for manual “pull-down” bandsaw machines where variation in the feedrate is inevitable.

Advanz FS and Advanz TS carbide-tipped blades have triple chip carbide teeth providing toughness, shock and wear resistance. They are manufactured with improved tooth blasting to help with break-in and increase blade life. Also, pitch selection has been revised to align better with today’s application requirements.

The Advanz FS replaces the previous carbide-tipped Type I blade. It is well suited as a foundry saw, cutting aluminum castings, masonite, plastics, composites and abrasive wood. Replacing the carbide-tipped Type III blade, the Advanz TS blade was developed to cut high-alloy metals and difficult-to-machine steels.

Starrett has re-organized and renamed its entire bandsaw line, which, in addition to the Versatix and Advanz product families, includes the Intenss family of bi-metal blades and Duratec carbon steel blades.
