Drills For Stainless
11/21/2006

Titex (www.titex.com) says its new VA INOX drills have a four-times-feed speed resulting in an increase in productivity compared with standard cobalt drills for stainless steel. The drills offer process secure machining with an external coolant supply and are suitable for older machines and small batch sizes, as is frequently required in the machining of stainless steel.

The drills generate shorter, more compact chips than conventional drills and are therefore suitable for other materials that have a tendency to create long chips and materials that produce soft-chip properties, such as soft construction steel, soft aluminum alloys, electrolyte copper and soft copper alloys. A short design (DIN 1897) is available that can be used on lathes.
